Texas Rangers Inside Pitch
The Rangers released designated hitter Erubiel Durazo on Monday, ending his brief audition to win a roster spot. The Rangers either had to place Durazo on the roster by Wednesday and guarantee him a $500,000 salary or offer him his release. Durazo, who was limited to 41 games with Oakland last season due to "Tommy John" elbow surgery, hit .217 in 23 spring at-bats with the Rangers. Durazo, originally a first baseman, still wasn't ready to play the field. |
